New Cumberland man dead after York County crash
A 77-year-old New Cumberland is dead after a two-car crash on Interstate 83 in Fairview Township at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to state police at York.
Louis J. Beemer of New Cumberland was driving a 1999 Jaguar Vanden Plas and entering I-83 south from exit 39A when he pulled out from a stop sign into the path of a 2004 International Harvester tractor-trailer driven by Nathan A. Ouimette, 22, of Swanton, Vt., police said. Beemer's vehicle struck the trailer part of Ouimette's vehicle and continued south, impacting the guide rail, according to police.
Beemer was ejected from the vehicle, police said, adding that he was not wearing a seat belt. Ouimette was not injured in the crash.
