E3 gives a taste of things to come
E3, also known as Electronic Entertainment Expo, was held recently at the LA Convention Center June 7-9. The industry only event plays host to the manufactures’’ and publishers’ big announcements for the next couple years.
This year two of the three big manufactures announced new systems. Next year will see Nintendo release a new home console, the WiiU. Backwards compatible with all the existing Wii games, capable of displaying 1080p graphics, and playing new games on a 25gb disc format - the new WiiU finally puts Nintendo on equal or better footing with Microsoft and Sony. Perhaps the biggest new feature comes in the from of the WiiU pad - a controller with a large 6.2in touch screen, accelerometer, two thumb sticks, and a front facing camera - it promises to bring entire new gameplay experiences to your couch that will remind many of what the Nintendo DS did for portable gaming. Also interesting is a seemingly renewed interest in publishers making mature titles for the WiiU such as “Aliens: Colonial Marines,” “Darksiders 2,” “Batman: Arkham City,” “Ghost Recon Online,” and an “Assassin’s Creed” title.
E3’s other big hardware announcement was a replacement for Sony’s PSP, the Sony Vita. Despite looking a lot like the PSP, it has a second extremely welcome thumbstick, a 5 inch multitouch screen, front and rear cameras, a rear touch panel, accelerometer, and an optional cellular radio. After the experiment that was the PSP Go, Sony appears to have pulled out all the stops with a true successor to the PSP. However, some of the updates are no-brainers like the dual thumbsticks, others definitely will leave some users skeptical, such as the rear touch panel. Ultimately, at a price point of $250 and with a release date of this fall, it’s the games that will move this system and we haven’t really heard of many beyond the new “Uncharted” prequel in the works for the system.
While Microsoft didn’t announce any new hardware, they did announce that they’d be bringing a new dashboard to the 360 to better integrate with Kinect. Some of the new features included the ability to search through all of the system’s content using an integrated Bing search feature so you can just say what you’re looking for. Microsoft also announced that Youtube videos will now be viewable on the system and UFC matches pay per view events can be viewed along with interactive features.
E3 is also a playground for publishers to announce new titles and give updates on previously announced titles.

First off, today is the first time i even touched my sd card after having it modded over a year ago by a friend of a friend. I really wanna use netflix, but as others have experienced, it's asking me to update. I Followed directions from several threads in which I was instructed to download IOS and other rar files onto WAD or my apps folder, none worked. Or even showed up on my homebrew (which I updated to 1.0.8. today). I have IOS61 v21.29 if that matters?
