Video: Entire Spanish village turns blue for Smurfs movie
Movie.That's right, the citizens of the Andalusian village of Juzcar, near Malaga, southern Spain allowed the facades of their homes to be painted blue as part of a global promotion for Sony Picture's upcoming CGI film. We'd say Sony endlessly cajoled the townspeople with that request until they were blue in the face.
The world premiere is to be held in the town and bosses have promised to repaint the town once the screening is over, though apparently the villagers are fond of the blue makeover.
The movie adaptation of the childhood favourite, which stars the voice talents of Hank Azaria, Neil Patrick Harris and Katy Perry, opens in Irish cinemas on August 10.

The story of the movie is about Hal, played by Ryan Reynolds, who is chosen by the alien Abin Sur, to attain the green energy powered ring, used for protecting their planet and fight against Parallax, who threatens to destroy the balancing power of the universe and the fate of the universe lies in the hands of Hal.
The movie is scheduled to hit the theaters this Friday on June 17, 2011.
